About Washington State Fair

The Washington State Fair hosts two annual events, the 20-day Washington State Fair every September, and the four-day Spring Fair in Puyallup every April.

Located in the shadow of majestic Mount Rainier, south of Seattle and east of Tacoma, the Washington State Fair Events Center comprises over 169 acres, with buildings and land valued at more than $54 million.

Each year the Washington State Fair offers the chance to show off your creativity in a variety of competitive exhibits from baking, wine making, photography, art and more! You can win the bragging rights and cash prizes by entering your masterpiece in one of our many competitive departments.

Feast your eyes on the best fruits and vegetables in the state. This fan favourite showcases the cream of the crop in agriculture and horticulture through grange displays, prize winning harvest and information on your local agriculture community.

The Puyallup Rodeo Weekend

Introduced in 2000, the Western Rodeo Parade and Cattle Drive celebrates the tradition from the early days of the Washington State Fair when cowboys would unload cattle from train cars and drive them to the fairgrounds.

Each year, with hundreds of people lined along Meridian Street, cattle are driven down the middle of the road, followed by cowboys, cowgirls, tractors and horse-drawn wagons. The Rodeo Parade is a truly unique experience, and the perfect lead-in to the Washington State Fair.
